Positive Effects of reducing screen time in your children:
1. Improved sleep duration and quality
2. Increased physical activity, muscular development, and blood circulation
3. Development of better social/friendship/communication skills
4. Less anger, emotional outburst, and mood-swings
5. Increased attention and academic performance
6. Increased amounts of family-time
The Mayo clinic recommends that children under the age of 2 not be given screen-time of any amount without having a parent explaining what it is that they are watching. Ages 2-5 should be limited to an hour of screen-time per day. Ages 6 and up they leave up to parental discretion, but recommend that no child participate in screen-time longer than 2 hours per day.
